[[strikethrough]] May 2 [[/strikethrough]] They are excellent [[underline]] teak-wood arm chairs here, [[/underline]] with woven bamboo seats, and of which the [[underline]] two arm rests, hide 2 straight wooden slats [[/underline]] which can be [[underline]] swung outwards [[/underline]] in any position and permit and cosy and [[underline]] cool rest for the legs. They are used to [[underline]] ferret out any [[/underline]] hidden [[underline]] mosquitoes [[/underline]] and [[underline]] brush [[/underline]] them [[underline]] out of the bed [[/underline]] before the [[underline]] curtain is closed up for the night. [[/underline]] Five lizzards crawling over the walls of my room. Am much used to them. In [[underline]] all toilet rooms here in Java [[/underline]] also on the ships one sees a [[underline]] row of wine bottles filled with water [[/underline]] and placed either on the floor or in a wooden rack. Am told this is for the [[underline]] Moslems [[/underline]] who do [[underline]] not use toilet paper [[/underline]] but thus use the bottle to [[underline]] wash [[/underline]] themselves with their [[underline]] left hand.
