afternoon took in gasoline then went back to [[underline]] Coconut [[/underline]] Grove. where as an answer to my urging to get news I found a [[underline]] telegram of Celine telling me she has been ill with the grippe for fourteen days. [[/underline]]
Jan 21. Yesterday I got rather disgusted with the impudence of [[underline]] Petersen [[/underline]] who gets fits of surliness and peevishness - and does not seem to realize that I shall not stand this. Told him plainly that I consider this near the limit of  my patience with him.
Jan 22. Continued beautiful weather. Afternoon took ION to [[underline]] Miami [[/underline]] anchored before [[underline]] Bricknell apartments. [[/underline]] Then hired motor car trying to do shopping. Impossible all [[underline]] stores so crowded that nobody seemed [[/underline]]

to have time to attend to me or if they did, they did not have the articles [[strikethrough]] they [[/strikethrough]] ⌃[[I]] wanted or were [[underline]] sold out. Nobody seems to care. [[/underline]] In the mean time on account of streets congested with motor cars no car can stop along the curb or anywhere so the driver has to keep driving around the block while one is in the store so that either one misses his motorcar or is waiting for the latter to arrive
Drove to [[underline]] Pilkington's old yacht yard. [[/underline]] now held by [[underline]] Merril and Stevens [[/underline]] of Jacksonville. Crowded with boat and no space available for next summer. 
At [[underline]] Roy Tracy's [[/underline]] yard got space under roof at 1 1/2 cents per day x (feet length + feet beam) or about 93 cents per day
Evening met [[underline]] Gordon Raymond [[/underline]] of C.C.A. who lives in [[underline]] Bricknell [[/underline]] apartments near my anchorage
