Wrote all morning [[red underlined]] answering George B's pessimistic letter [[/red underlined]] where he sees future of Bakelite all black and n.g. and advises selling out to Dupont 
The [[red underlined]] boy evidently is nervously run down. [[/red underlined]] 
My dear old friend Mr. Peek died. 
Went with Celine on a visit to the [[red underlined]] Fairchilds. Celine gets in somewhat better humor. Evening we started talking about George which brings us nearer reconciliation. [[/red underlined]]
[[underlined]] Feb 6. [[/underlined]] Things are smoothing. Celine gets her good humor back. - Marvelously beautiful day helps much. 
Dredge starts in harbor and all other implements of contractor are clearing out

A [[red underlined]] better letter from George [[/red underlined]] explaining why he did not answer my letters. Has been all week in Washington attending to suit of "Laminated goods" before Tariff Commission. Seems more cheerful. 
Feb 7. Dredging ^[[of harbor]] and filling of mole. - Paid [[red underlined]] $1000 on account [[/red underlined]] to Bunnell. Went buying wicker furniture with Celine at Little River. 
[[underlined]] Feb 8 [[/underlined]] [[red underlined]] Completely reconciled. Visited  Crabbe's "Windjammer" [[/red underlined]] schooner which is at anchor [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] a mile out. He and his daughter returned visit here 
Bootleg boat next property (Ritchie) This seems to have been going on regularly at intervals.
[[underlined]] Feb. 9. [[/underlined]] Lots of noisy talk and hilarity at [[red underlined]] "El Jardin" [[/red underlined]] [[strikethrough]] Ritchie ans [[/strikethrough]] seems a rather [[red underlined]] common crowd. [[/red underlined]]
