Put one can (2 ^[[½]] lbs?) of Stroh's Malt Extract (no hops!) in a kettle of boiling or steaming water so as to preheat it. (Pierce the lid first.
Boil 1½ ounces of Bohemian hops separately in about 1½ gallons of water but do not squeeze, strain, and then add the contents of hot can of malt and bring strength up to 11% of sugar (Saccharometer) after having added 3 lbs. corn sugar (maltose or crystalline glucose) Add one quartder of a cake of Fleishmann Yeast, and start fermenting somewhat below 100°F. Follow fermentation and bottle as soon as liquid shows 2½% on saccharometer which takes from 36 hours to 90 hours. [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] in cold weather
