Stephen [[red underlined]] Duggan, [[/red underlined]] Director gave report of work and pending problems. Budget for 1935 discussed and voted upon. Dr. [[red underlined]] Pritchett [[/red underlined]] and [[red underlined]] John Bassett Moore [[/red underlined]] excused both have a cold, present [[red underlined]] Murrow [[/red underlined]] assistant to Duggan, Henry [[red underlined]] Morgentau, Thomas Lamont, Aydelotte, Capen, Cattell, Pack, Packard, Robinson present. [[/red underlined]] Duggan told about his [[red underlined]] experiences in Russia, Germany, England etc. [[/red underlined]] - Finished at 9 P.M

[[/underlined]] A very busy day at office answering [[red underlined]] Stauss letters [[/red underlined]] concerning sales-service methods, Italy, and changes to [[red underlined]] Bye-laws of Bakelite Gesellschaft [[/red underlined]] in relation to appointment or dismissal of "procuristen".
Celine came to fetch me at office with Celine & Ninette Roll and took them to Yonkers for supper.- Rain all day & foggy.
Oct 27 - [[strikethrough]] Oc [[/strikethrough]] Celine in New York. I here all day, writing and studying.

[[underlined]] Oct. 29. [[/underlined]] Colonel Crawford visited me at office. [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] Consulted Blount as to Bakelite Varnish for toilet seats made from Woodpulp and plaster impregnated with sulfur. Then took him to University Club for luncheon. 
[[underlined]] Oct 30. [[/underlined]] [[underlined in red]] Sanford Brown [[/underlined in red]] who has been travelling about for a long time visiting his customers. Came back today and reports [[red underlined]] further progress [[/red underlined]] in uses of [[red underlined]] halowax [[/red underlined]] for [[strikethrough]] t [[/strikethrough]] flame resisting wiring and for liquid in electric transformers. Suggested to him use of [[red underlined]] fluor-naphtalene. [[/red underlined]] - Shall write to Frederic about this subject. [[strikethrough]] At University [[/strikethrough]] Went for luncheon at University there the young man I met in [[red underlined]] Santiago Chile [[/red underlined]] in 1920 and who is now connected with [[red underlined]] Beryliun enterprise [[/red underlined]] introduced me to his two young companions. One of them is [[red underlined]] John D. Rockefeller III who married Adelaide daughter of Elon Hooker. The young man made a good impression [[/red underlined]] so did his two companions. 
[[underlined]] Oct 31. [[/underlined]] At office. - Various conferences. [[red underlined]] Nina [[/red underlined]] out of hospital after [[red underlined]] minor operation [[/red underlined]]
[[underlined]] Nov 1. [[/underlined]] Day started dark and raining. Stayed home writing to [[red underlined]] Frederic about Fluor naphtalenes. [[/red underlined]] Evening went to Century Club monthly dinner. Very well attended met many of my old friends.
