to its [[red underline]] present condition, [[/red underline]] where the manufacture and quality of the raw material put it [[red underline]] ahead of that of our competitors, besides the great superiority in rapidity and regularity of molding methods. [[/red underline]] The final products submitted to boiling water tests, and various other tests show decidedly better as I saw yesterday by the results displayed by Peakes, in our New York office. [[vertical note in left margin in red]] Great improvements in mfg & gains [[/vertical note in left margin]]
[[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] reports also that [[red underline]] from present conditions of this [[/red underline]] [[strikethrough]] next [[/strikethrough]] half of the year shows as well as the past 6 months [[red underline]] we may expect net earnings of about $800.000, [[/red underline]] which is more than I expect.
Tells me our [[red underline]] varnish resins have greatly increased in sale. Also the Bakelite Cardboard of Rogers-Bakelite [[/red underline]] is taking considerable extension without encroaching upon our sales of molding mixtures, [[strikethrough]] etc [[/strikethrough]] or laminated. [[red underline]] Eastman Kodak Co is using it now for all its small molded cameras. [[/red underline]]

The former practice was to sell the Rogers-Bakelite cardboard in sheets to the fabricator, who then punched out the parts he wanted to mold or press. But this gave him the [[red underline]] complication [[/red underline]]

of [[red underline]] accumulating much trimmings [[/red underline]] which then had to be sent [[strikethrough]] to Bloomfield [[/strikethrough]] to be recrushed in the beater etc. etc. entailing complications and freight.
The [[red underline]] idea now is to sell to the fabricator the ready punched parts. We doing the punching and any [[/red underline]] trimmings are immediately returned to the beater in the regular manufacturing process. [[red underline]] We sell our punchings per lb. [[/red underline]] and all the fabricator has to do is to press them in the molds to the desired shape. - and without waste of trimmings or complications
[vertical note in left margin in red]] George still hopes for Building & Roofing Co. [[/vertical note in left margin]]
[[red underline]] George still expects the Bakelite Building Co, roofing [[/red underline]] to procure large earnings. Several machines for making these roofing tiles are now being built for several prospective customers, including [[red underline]] Johns Mandeville. [[/red underline]] Each machine will not be sold, [[underline]] but leased, [[/underline]] the lease lasting 20 years and to be paid [[underline]] in advance [[/underline]] at the rate of $1000 a year. - This is to avoid that they should use the machinery for purposes detrimental to our interests. [[vertical note in left margin in red]] Georges proposition [[/vertical note in left margin]]
George also reports that [[red underline]] Swan [[/red underline]] is continuing making good headway with his rubber printing plates and several important printing establishments using them gradually, and increasingly.
