On returning struck a succession of heavy rainsqualls and thunder and lightning, which lasted almost to the time I entered my harbor. - This gave me a [[underlined in red]] good opportunity for testing how tight the boat [[/underlined in red]] and cabins were. Except a small leak on the little window near the stairs of my cabin and a [[strikethrough]] leak [[/strikethrough]] ^[[2]] small leaks thru the deck and ceiling of the Engine room. I noted no leaks. There was a slight leak on the top- slide [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] ^[[over]] the engine room ladder. When landing I found Mr. [[strikethrough]] R.L. [[/strikethrough]] & Mrs. [[strikethrough]] L [[/strikethrough]] R.E. [[underlined in red]] Valentine, cousins of Dr. Franklin [[/underlined in red]] of Stanford University waiting at my dock to pay [[strikethrough]] They [[/strikethrough]] me a visit. Gave him a copy [[strikethrough]] G [[/strikethrough]] of "Gone Sunward". Stayed here for about 3/4 hour. This was a very interesting trip with cheerful sunny ending

Moderate breeze N.NE all the time, bright pleasant weather. Went out to be able to measure our speed in average weather
