Shipped my trunk and two large valises to Florida one day ahead of tomorrow's departure.

[[underlined]] Dec. 17. [[/underlined]]  Train for Florida leaves 1:25 P.M. Went to U. Club to empty my locker. Then to office to write a few letters. Dick then drove me to Pennsylvania Station.
Train for Florida Express of Seaboard Air-line has a new enormous [[underlined]] Diesel-driven engine. [[/underlined]] Very fast but on this account the shaking and rolling of the cars is much accentuated, [[strikethrough]] whenev [[/strikethrough]]  whenever the road-bed is in bad repair.
[[underlined]] Sunday Dec. 18. [[/underlined]] Beautiful weather and vegetation in Georgia has not been affected by frost.
Train [[underlined]] much crowded and many jews. [[/underlined]] - Their wives and their jargon!
