Count Van Der Straeten Pontos, Belgian Minister [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] in Washington. Mrs. Grenade and her daughter and many distinguished Belgians 
Marvelous dinner where I was placed among the important men. Afterwards, open air meeting. Speeches in English, Flemish, French on different topics.
Then regimental performance of young ladies [[strikethrough]] dressed in [[/strikethrough]] born in the U.S. from Belgian parents in a very becoming soldier uniform some with drums, leading. All commandos carried out with military precision which would astonish professional soldiers
Grenade, Mrs. Grenade and daughter were kind enough to bring me to Snug Rock in their motor car. - A most enjoyable day. Father Roosens - one of the priests of the Belgian church made the best impression about his confreres. Beautiful weather, and enormous number of visitors
