Went walking all afternoon

[[/underlined]] Took trolley car to Van Cortland, then the subway as far as Columbia University; walked thru some of the adjacent streets Then returned to Yonkers by Elevated R. R and trolley car. Excellent weather and very pleasant walk Celine took Brooks to New York and went to meet Dickie Brooks met one of his Harvard friends, who invited him to go to his house.
Italian Army is getting more reverses, and is being driven by the Greek and British troops

[[underlined]] December 25. [[/underlined]] Great family meeting at Snug Rock. - Brooksie who was absent last year at this date while he was then in India, is now here and full of whit.
The Roll boys have all grown up considerably so have their sister Celine Roll had brought her fiance along. Little Freddie, very taciturn as usually, but very smart and intelligent is the shortest of the

of the family and keeps quiet among the noise. - Nina her husband and his and her children all much grown up Ninette has developed considerably in growth as well as in intelligence The only thing that has not changed for the better is [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] her habit of talking too fast.
Phillip Wyman and his children has not only much intelligence and knowledge but has a pleasant character.
Gerhardt and Dicky seem both happy.
We received a cablegram (or Air Mail) from George in Brazil
The Christmas Tree with lighted candles decorations and surprises, looks cheerful as ever and was divided among all present.

December 27. - Dick drove me to Philadelphia Station, train leaving exactly 1:20 P.M. for Florida. Train very crowded but had reserved a full compartment for myself
December 27 Arrived at Miami about noon on time. - But Andrew was not there, so had to be driven
