William G. Harkins, librarian of the U. of Miami Mr. Wm J.Hark (?) with his assistant to take away the many books and periodicals on science and engineering for their library. - They filled a motor car to the limit. His assitant's name is Henkins (?) Have sent a basket of oranges to Miss Bidwell, to Dean John Warren Barker and to Prof. Arthur Warren Hixson. - Went out in Pram with new outboard motor. Then this afternoon meditation with Celine about our relatives and friends during this horrible war in Europe and our politicians headed by President Roosevelt to embroil us all in it!! [[underline]] Jan. 30 [[/underline]] . Since Celine has arrived here, a new tone of cheerfulness has invaded [[strikethrough]] Snug Rock. [[/strikethrough]] X [[vertical note in left margin]] X "The Anchorage" [[/vertical note]] Feb. 2 (Sunday) Took Pram to Yacht Club under sail. But on returning homewards at dusk, the wind ceased and I had to use rowing until I felt so tired as to run in the harbor of my friend, the son of commodore Munro

[[underline]] Feb. 3 [[/underline]] Monday. Drove with Andrew to Ford Motors headquarter to have car examined. Nothing wrong with it after 500 miles use. [[strikethrough]] This afternoon [[/strikethrough]] Also went to Post office to have my annual renewal of sailing permit for the ION. Received a cheerful interesting letter from George B. now in Brazil and adjacent states. - Seems to enjoy much his trip
