Dear Forbes

I am answering briefly your letter of Sept 1st concerning my career as an artist.
I was born in New York City January 24th 1879. I started to study painting in 1892 under Wm M Chase; after that I went to the New York Art School at 57th St & 6th Ave and then to the Art Students League. My period of study lasted from 1892 until 1902 interrupted only by my attendance at Princeton University where I graduated in 1900.
I have done all sorts of subjects and I can't say which sort of work could be classed as outstanding. Probably some of my circus subjects above, with the picture I have done of fisherman and the sea would be classed as the best.
I am represented in the following museums
