SECOND: [[underlined]]Voters Education[[underlined]]

1. An office site with capacity of approximately 200 in the heart of Fillmore District was selected, decorated, furnished, and opened on September 16.

2. There were three briefing sessions held-devoted to interpretation of Citizenship Education. Additional volunteers were recruited. Co-ordinater presented analysis of program and activities. Fifteen hundred letters were mailed to church, fraternal, social, labor and civic groups urging participation in the current election campaign and offering the service speakers and invitation to visit Project Headquarters.

3. A press conference was held with all daily and weekly newspapers-- General news spreads followed.

4. A voting machine was installed in the office of local headquarters through the courtesy of San Francisco Registration Bureau.

5. Speakers were organized with a two fold purpose:
(a) Five persons were made available for day and evening meetings to discuss the citizenship project and recruit workers.
(b) To secure specialized speakers on current election issues and state government structure propositions (always on a non-partisan viewpoint).

[[underlined]]SUMMARY OF MAJOR ACTIVITIES[[underlined]]

[[underlined]]SECOND PHASE[[underlined]]

1. A coffee hour was held for the Ministers of leading churches in the City, at which time a panel of non-partisan government officials discussed State, County and City Government structure, Pros and Cons of State Propositions.

2. Junior Council sponsored an evening meeting and presented a panel from The League of Women Voters discussing the nineteen State propositions.

3. The Advisory Committee of Citizenship Education Program co-sponsored with [[underlined]]Sun Reporter[[underlined]] (weekly newspaper) a mass meeting presenting the Honorable J. Ernest Wilkins and Congressman Diggs, Sunday, October 14 -- attendance over 800 persons.
