On trip saw few birds & fewer mammals Rabbit tracks were exceedingly scarce everywhere. Saw perhaps 25 jacks & 2 cottontails all day long.

✓ [[check mark]] 5. [[underlined]] Raven [[/underlined]] scattered individuals & then toward nightfall in 9-10 miles between Lancaster siding & Vale we counted 156 of the black rascals all flying along the road in the opposite direction to us. [[insertion]] Malheur [[/insertion]]

About 2 miles east Ironside [[insertion]] Malheur [[/insertion]] arrived Ontario met [[Sankey?]] and spent evening discussing matters with him - [[strikethrough]] skinned two birds - wrote notes & to [[/strikethrough]] bed

Call on County Agent Larson - discuss gopher and squirrel operations with him. He has several gopher clean-ups organized which may mean 20,000 acres or more next fall. Some wanted some work this spring
