Steered Jack Bowles into Cosmos Club and had a meeting with T. Gilbert Pearson in morning and another with him in evening which I hope did some good. Stayed with he & Bowles until the left in evening.

Big pow wow in Stockbergers office on hunters where we won a big victory on the appointment issue. In evening to Forsters home for lovely dinner & evening.

In office in morning cleaning up stuff & discussing possible economies if 10% cut goes thru. In afternoon to N.Y arriving at Guy's place at about 8:30 pm. Visit with them.

At Guy's all day except for a little drive in the morning to Pine Lake. Rested some & sure needed it.

To Harrisburg & return conferring with G.A. [[Slivens?]] & Horace McFarland about Book. Very satisfactory. Book is in good shape and format looks nice.

At New York where I called on Geo. Stumpp Jr., W.A. Sparling, W.E. Marshall & Co, & Shidelsky & Co; and American Bulb Co. It is so slow getting around N.Y. that I had little time to spare to get to Guy's place.

Up early & to Penn Station where I started back to Washington. Stopped in Philadelphia where I had a visit with Grossman of Philadelphia (Michel & Co) then on to Washington & office.

In office all day working on expense allotments except for time spent writing a memorandum for Dieffenbach etc.
