[[underlined]] April 15, 1932. [[/underlined]] Conferred with powers that be & worked over expense allotments. At noon lunch with Dr. Fisher at Cosmos club. Dinner & Bridge at the Hendersons.
[[underlined]] April 16, 1932. [[/underlined]] At office Saw Kalmbachs new duck sickness film and it is a dandy one. Also discussed rat control until lunch. In afternoon at hotel [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] writing. In evening saw Joe Dixons films of the Trumpeter Swan & visited with him a bit. Will meet him in Portland shortly after my return.
April 17, 1932. Sunday rested in A.M & wrote. In afternoon saw Phil & Washington play. Crowd of eight of us & then Garlough & I went out to Crouch's for dinner.
April 18, 1932. In capital saw McNary, Steiner, Martin & Butler. Then [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] office [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] saw Dr. [[Wetruve?]], Friedmann, Dr. Richmond etc and came back to office. In evening to Cosmos Club [[insertion]] lunch with [[Wetruve?]], Dixon, Palmer [[/insertion]]
[[underlined]] April 19, 1932. [[/underlined]] Conference on forms etc worked all day at it in evening to hotel to sleep. 
[[underlined]] April 20, 1932. [[/underlined]] Finishing up odds & ends at office & to meet Vernon on P.M.
[[underlined]] April 21, 1932. [[/underlined]] Left Washington at 10:30 AM after visiting office to say good bye. Arrived in Philadelphia & went over Sharp & Dome Bio Lab with Dr Munch - then to dinner at Bookbinders a famous see food place and to a show. 
[[underlined]] April 22, 1932. [[/underlined]] Has been a full day we spent two hours going over the pill factory where all kinds of giant machines were stamping and rolling out pills - filling bottles, mixing and grinding drugs labeling them etc. very fascinating
