went clam digging with Couch for an hour before starting home. Secured a nice mess of butter clams & had a good time in spite of heat. arrived home at midnight after stopping at Theo Alberts for a short time.
[[underlined]] June 9, 1932 [[/underlined]] McFarland in office this morning & confirmed Couch's belief as to Williams & Gubsen's condition while he was in Olympia. Also reported that Williams & Gubsen drinking on their last trip. Made up reports on Williams etc & also on Rassmussen.

Working on office matters & routine & personal affairs in evening.

In office in A.M. and then to Bird Sanctuary to meet Eliot & look over work which has been done. Then to Nursery to go over matters with John. To Prof Dubois in Evening for a while.

In morning to Nursery for a short time & then home to work on lawn & flower beds. Things are fine at new nursery and believe we are going to have a better trade there.

In morning with John to Montgomery Ward & co where we arranged for a deal on our rock plants and also to supply all their bulbs. Then to office to work on routine & paper for A. for Adv. of Science at Pullm on next Friday.

Spent day writing letters & working on paper for Science academy meeting. Worked in nursery for a couple of hours in evening.
