[[underlined]]July 17,1932[[/underlined]] Worked at nursery cleaning up front and laying more stepping stones. Pulling weeds etc. 
[[underlined]]July 18,1932.[[/underlined]]To Salem - checking over names with Prof Peck showing him some specimens and then to Albany & beyond on Santiam flats to look over territory & renew old acquaintances. 
[[underlined]]July 19,1932.[[/underlined]] Returned to Portland in AM. and found plate proofs for book. Finished article for reports and blackbird colonies in Cal & mailed it. Worked over proofs tonight
[[underlined]]July 20,1932[[/underlined]] Red letter day for I mailed all proofs back to printers on book. Gosh what a job. I thot I'd never finish. More office work. 
[[underlined]]July 21,1932[[/underlined]] Worked at desk all day clearing up odds & ends & gathered more Thallium data from Moores reports & those of Garlough. To nursery in evening where I planted in flats some 500 little Rhodendrons. About 65 [[underlined]]R. williamsemanum[[/underlined]] & the balance [[underlined]]R. racemosum[[/underlined]]
Wire from Crouch requesting me to meet him. 
[[underlined]]July 22nd,1932. With Cora, Clara & kids on a hike in Mt Hood forest looking over forest floor & flora. returned home 330PM & arranged to take train to Boise tonight. Left Portland 930PM. 
[[underlined]]July 23,1932.[[/underlined]] To Boise thru heat and arrived there late at 110PM. Crouch & Kerr met me at train and I conferred with Crouch all afternoon. In evening to bed early
