Visit plant of West Coast fur sales & check over the cooperative fur. See Lorber etc & then to Olympia to visit Couch - Williams & Finley. Stop enroute to see Theo Albert & arrive in Portland at 1100 pm.

Dec 24, 1932. Mail & at home help the youngsters prepare for Xmas.

With the kids & Dad Mother Horace & John. we had a very pleasant day. Kids are happy with their things tho we spent less than last year. Big dinner etc.

Left in am for coast. Check conditions in Tillamook Valley on moles & Morris Mole plots in Netarts.
Dec 27, 1932. Walked beach to Oceanside & never saw so many dead birds in my life. Literally  dozens mostly California murres but about 25 Rhinocerous Auklets and a great variety of other birds including 8 Horned Puffins  the first I have ever found, 6 ancient murrelets also the first 
A Pacific Loon my first winter record and a Slender billed Shearwater also the first. Cassinis auklets, Western grebes, Pied billed Grebes, white winged scoters, western & glaucous winged gulls and one canvas back completed the list. On the bay there were two
