April 10, 1934 cont.
     and letters.  Prof. Dubois, Rober, Raspraeger & 
Elliott in & I went to bird sanctuary with
him to look over tree plantings.   They 
have done a good job of both mulberries & 
mountain ash.  John Jansen & John Carter over this evening.
April 11, 1934.
     In office all day working on mail special 
reports etc.  Tired out when night came
April 12, 1934.
     In office general work  --  getting slowly towards
the bottom of the pile.  Hell of a mess
April 13, 1934.  More of the same until I gag at
it.
April 14, 1934.
Decided to work at home so spaded garden &
went to nursery for plants.  Just started to
plant at 3:00 P.M. when phone rang and
I had too go to Imperial Hotel, met Bill and
Schoenfelt, Beary who told me the rodent
appropriation was out of the budget.  Went with
them to interview Dean Peary & Chancellor Kerr who promised to care for the matter after we presented it.
April 15, 1934
     Out to Hall's for a while in the morning 
with Iris & John Carter.  Saw damned few
birds but those seen were wild.
saw 25 geese  --  probably [[minimizing?]]  wood ducks.
