Found a small pond near Palmdale with about a hundred dead birds about it. [[underline]] Mostly Coots [[/underline]] - some [[underline]] eared grebes [[/underline]], One [[underline]] Red Phalarope [[/underline]] , one [[underline]] Blue Heron [[/underline]] (shot) & 1 [[underline]] northern Loon [[/underline]] & 4 [[underline]] Ruddy ducks [[/underline]]. All in bad shape altho no gunshot in evidence. One [[underline]] grebe [[/underline]] killed by owl - maybe rest died of duck sickness.
A few birds acting like Klamath Lake birds along margins & perhaps fifty out in water still normal or so nearly so I couldn't tell anything about them.
