Lv Tonopah 645 AM. To Twin Springs & look over proposition. Some run off from springs now - evidence of good spring run off but would recommend measurement of water. Good dam site. Saw three wells in Railroad valley. Old No 1 well good - new one not quite as good one blocked with sand.

Left Ely 800 AM in tremendous snow storm - 8 inches of snow & more coming all the time. Bucked sn ow for 30 miles and had bad roads to Pioche. 118 miles. Squally rest of way. Few birds except [[underline]] horned larks [[/underline]].
Checked 3 hunters of a crowd of six south of Alamo. All had licences but no duck stamps. Postmaster at Las Vegas had taken money & stamped licences with post marks. on in to Las Vegas at 600 PM

Left Las Vegas at 600 AM & drove to Nelson & Eldorado Canyon. Lots of Joshua trees and other tree Yucca. Also barrel cactus & cholla. Birds scarce altho plentiful in the heads of little canyons in Eldorado Range. No sheep but saw several people who stated there were still a few in this range.
