Aug 25, 1935.  Wachapreague Va
Saw & collected several new birds while on shore in the marshes.
Shot a [[underline]] Louisiana Heron[[\underline]] out of a flock of five, the first I had ever seen.  Also collected my first [[underline]] Clapper Rail, Eastern Hourlihu[[?]] and Eastern Willett.[[\underline]]  Saw a few [[underline]] Black Sparrows[[\underline]] a lot of [[underline]] Laughing Gulls[[\underline]] & an [[underline]] occasional Tern.[[\underline]]

Aug 26, 1935
Out to sea about 15 miles but never saw a cursed bird except Ospreys fishing from the fish traps.  [[underline]] Terns & Cormorants, Laughing gulls[[\underline]] & an occasional [[underline]] Herring gull.[[\underline]]
Collected my first [[underline]] Least Tern[[\underline]] from the boat and several [[underline]] Common Terns.[[\underline]]

Aug 27, 1935.
Spent the day on Paramore Island.  We first walked the beach north from the Coast Guard station.  Saw the following
(1)  Common Tern.  Corman[[?]] collected one baby unable to fly & several newly fledged yg.
(2)  [[underline]] Royal[[\underline]] Tern. 2. Collected 1 my first
(3)  Laughing Gull (C)
(4)  Herring    "  Few
(5)  Black Skimmer.  Big flocks resting on sand at north end of the island where they were reported to have bred.  Collected one young barely able to fly. (My first)
(6)  Green Heron (several)
(7)  Great Blue Heron (several)
(8)  American Egret  2
(9)  Little Blue Heron (few)
(10) Eastern Willet    quite common on beach
(11) Hudsonian Curlew    "      "   in grass.
