Dec 2, 1935

In office this morning-on conferences & dictation. Lunch with Seth Gordon and a
nice visit at the Cosmos Club. In office the rest of the afternoon. Home in evening & for a walk with Clara before going to work.

Dec 3, 1935

Worked in office all day. Have finally caught up with myself and the stuff Mr. Darling left here. Clara came in for lunch with me & I went with Ashbrook to Federal Club for dinner and a meeting at which Basil Manley spoke. 

Dec 4, 1935

In office all day except for a lunch with  Silcox at Cosmos Club & discussed with him various matters. Out to Hendersons in the evening & played bridge.

In office all day. Had a fine time working and at home in evening. 

Dec 6, 1935

Weaver came over and asked me to go on a trip I cancelled last night and so I agreed to go on short notice. Left at noon with Mr. Fred Gauntelett, vice-president of the Newport News Ship Bldg. Co. & Mr. McMullin from South Carolina. Met Weaver and Forster asst to asst sec of commerce & went on board all alone at Annapolis. Had a nice ride down the Potomac in a wonderful boat arrived at Newport News at midnight
