In office all day. Met Mr Barrol of Baltimore in P.M. Geo Wright telephoned about Ickes. Had busy day. Dr. Rust & wife at home for lunch. In evening worked on book

Big blow up over wild life conference. Presidents invitations wreck banquet arrangement We have a wild time but finally get Wallace as a substitute.

Silcox did not get back & we had to use our own money in deficiency bill Lots of work & excitement. Saw Kleberg for a few minutes & got the Don
Gilchrist thing straightened out. Dixons out for dinner in evening & we had nice visit. Also to Baird Club with Dixon. Elected members.

A hectic day indeed. Conferences in morning over Benton Lake and surrounding territory. Conference with Young at noon. With Silcox, [[?ford]], Schwartz, & Davis in P.M. Talked to George Wright and others about Ickes and others who blew up.
