fine meal. Ate my first green turtle soup. Program was fine and enjoyed it thoroughly. Dick Bishop autographed my copy of the menu & program which had a beautiful group of canvasbacks on it. They had a Brazilian there who demonstrated how he killed jaguars with a spear. also Schaefer of Philadelphia described vividly his wild yak hunt in Tibet. Also a composite movie of animals & birds by members of the wilderness club. Carpenter's photos of humpback whale jumping were the best I've seen.

Conference in AM. with Sen. Pittman & Carl Shoemaker. At noon with Lincoln & Clara to Foster's place. Visited his trophy room & had diamond backed terrapin. Nice time. Then drove home eating dinner in Baltimore.

To Senate office building. Saw Norbeck & [[Thurman?]]. Then back to office & worked all day on mail. 
Mar 10, 1936.
To Senate office Bldg again. Saw McNary, and came back to office for afternoon. Had a heavy day and very tired.
Mar 11, 1936.
To [[Steiners?]] office and then to Senate Committee hearings. Back to Norbecks office and then to office & worked there till late. Very tired and frazzled out.

To office. Had quietest day since I've been chief. Not many callers and I had time to clear my desk and go home at 4:45 the earliest I've left since getting the job.
