Went to Baltimore in afternoon with Carl Shoemaker to attend a meeting Came home with him to dinner May 16, 1936 In office all morning & spent the day at home in P.M going out to look at several houses with Clara in the afternoon & evening. May 17, 1936 At home labeling birds and looking at houses with Clara. She found a house & lot that we liked but not together. Perhaps we can get them together. May 18, 1936 In office an exceedingly busy day. Didn't have an opportunity to draw a full breath with all the multitude of detail. May 19, 1936 What a day. John Baker - Sec. Wallace & Rex Tugwell before 1000AM. House Foreign affairs committee on Mexican treaty enabling act. Reported out favorably. Then Willis Robertson's office to see him and Mex Ambassador Guggenheim to Cuba. Lunch with Sen. Hauss & Carl Shoemaker Conference with Stockberger and then to my office at 3.15PM. went over preliminary estimates with Henderson & Miss Smith. Discussed various affairs with Henderson At home 6.30. Ate dinner & took [[B&O?]] at 900PM.
