Dec 4, 1936
Another bluebird day.  Spent an hour in the blind & then with Lawrence out over the project.  Saw literally thousands of [[underline]] Pintails [[\underline]] & [[underline]] geese [[\underline]] and a great number of swans.  The birds are certainly taking advantage of the feed on the refuge.  Buildings are progressing slowly and apparently work not too well organised.  Needs prodding.  The lookout tower in the old chimney is unique & will be a real asset to it from more than one standpoint.

Dec 5, 1936.
Left Refuge at 8.00AM and stopped in Washington to see Bursch & Congressman Lindsay Warren.  Had a nice visit & then came on to Washington arriving at home at 6.00PM for dinner.  Cora here but I was too tired to really visit.

Dec 6, 1936
Up at 9.00AM & worked about house awhile & John Huntington called & wanted me to come to hotel.  Had a nice visit?)   He wanted me to let Knapp off from whatever charge the boys filed against him.  Back home for dinner.  Took a rest & then skinned ducks for a while.

Had a hectic day at office.  Everyone wanted to see me at once and I managed to see most of them.  Everyone excited & some worried over the Knapp business.  Falls called & said the Hartnet and
