July 24, 1937 (cont.) Anderson + I got into a hornets nest and I got stung twice & he three times. One of my eyes swelled until it was half closed. July 25, 1937 Clara June, Jean & I went fishing at 7:00 Am. C.J. caught 4 bass & Jean 2 while I rowed. We only kept one which Jean caught which weighed 1 1/4#. The entire family went swimming at noon just before dinner & Jean & Grace Gail both made their first dives from Andersons dock. Rained in evening. July 26, 1937 Up at 7:00 & trolled around the island letting Grace Gail & Iris fish. Iris caught 4 bass of which we kept one which weighed 1 3/4# and turned the others back altho two of them would have weighed 1/2# or more. Grace Gail caught 2 bass & 1 perch of which we kept a 1# bass. Score 7 fish. Went to village with Clara. Car died again with heater switch on. Took to garage & left it. 1. Loon 3 2. Crow 4 3.
