Oct 22,1937
Rush took me to Clear Lake where I saw U.S. Deputy J.Z.Stevens and Frank Walker.  Left there at 10:13 PM on Milwaukee.  Impressed by the fact that there isn't a spot that a duck can alight in Iowa without getting shot at.  Ducks know it too and go on south.
Oct 23,1937
   Arr Chicago 8:00 AM and leave at 3:20 PM  Everyone out of town and so just walked around getting a little fresh air.

   Arrive at home 8:40 AM. Clara met me and went home. Loafed all day as I was too tired to do anything.

   In office all day on many small matters and left for New York on midnight train.
Oct 26, 1937
   Saw Geo [[Shinpf?]] & [[Wm?]] Spurling & then to Audubon Society meeting. Spoke there and had conferences with Vogt, Bode, Allen, Baker etc.  Clara June came over and visited with me and then we went to Banquet.

   Left NY 9:30 AM arr Wash 1:30 PM  In office on various matters mostly routine and then to Club for a workout. & home for evening.  Too tired to do much but did work a while on a manuscript.
