At 2 45 slide drawn again. 2 46 slide replaced. 2 52 slide drawn. Experiments with new automatic electric apparatus for observing eclipses of Jupiter's satellites. The instrument was connected with a two cell dry battery and a key which were placed on the recording table in the dome. The signals were sent by hand every 10s time being taken from a chronometer. Occasional failures of the current to draw the armature, and several signals of too long duration sent by the operator, causing double intervals, made a rather uneven series as a whole. Though the apparatus worked well for several consecutive minutes. | ||||
