36Nov 30 1896Note. Dis. Jup. I at 15:14 Var. Star App. put on telescope ready for eclipse. Found app. would stop working every time on a certain pin which would have to be moved by, by hand. No signals either. Mr. Wendell came up to observe eclipse visually and required assistance, so observations with 11 in were given up.
