[line] Tuesday October 1 [line]
Morning rise very late. Sort shells. Rains with little wind. Ice all come down out of the river. I may be able to get off to Ulukuk yet. Take a short walk. After tea turn in early but am awakened
about 8 PM by the bidarra arriving
from [Kegictowit?] with the goods etc & Johnny. They have had an easy but a rainy time. The rascals at Kegictowit have stolen half of the fat out
of the bag which [[I?]] left there.
[line] Wednesday, October 2 [/line]
Get the goods which are pretty wet into the store. Pay off the crew. Buy a bag of oil & a whole piece of back fat. Go down with Popoff into the Indian
village. Get a crew & make arrangements for a trip
to Ulukuk as there is no ice on the river.
