Ice still sticks fast. If my men were here I would start down the river in the water close to the bank, and when the ice did start haul up and wait. This date last year, we started up the river. Now The ice is not yet broken up. Skin 18 birds, a long job, label & catalogue them. Get my canoe up to dry. Grind salt for the trip. Cold north wind all day. Get some more birds and go to bed with a splitting headache.
