Jaguajuara. Fag. Mundo Noro. Elec. 700 m
Dominant bamboo throughout medium dry forest, forming dense clumps, the culms leaving over trees, up to 15 m. Culms with thick walls, hollow in small branches, otherwise filled with soft pith; surface [[anferous?]], up  to 2 cm in diam. Nodes with prominent ridges and many thick branches. Culm leaf long, narrow, triangular at the tip with extremely reduced blades, present only at the top of new culms, soon deciduous. Sheath drying fast on upper part and becoming reflexed Found in part flowering stage, but only in one small patch.
