Cloudy wind SSW strong. Ther 60, water      sp. gr. 25 See a good many whale birds and note a greenish discoloration of the water for the last 48 hours work over reports & accounts
Wednesday May 7
Work over accounts & straighten them out. Water 25sp Wind SSW moderate. Bar. 30.09 air 54.W.52
Thursday May 8
    Wind  changes to westward about noon & blows very fresh. Water. 25. Shorten sail and make all snug for a blow.
Friday May 9
Blows half a gale all day. We make some headway under double reefed mainsail. single reefed foresail and jib without the bonnet. Most vessels would be tying to in this weather, but the Yukon handles herself beautifully, light a fire today
Saturday May 10
Blows very stiff between 4 A.M & 8 A.M. Spring the flying jibboom - Later in day moderates slightly
