Blowing a stiff gale. 4 P.M., water 25.5. Cold + disagreeable. at Night wind shifts a little to the westward. and blows stronger 
-Monday May 12- 
Reef in early morning. Blowing a stiff gale with bad cross sea. Moderates a little in P.M. 4 o clock sp. gr. water ,255 at night quite moderate. The group left us yesterday. Kittiwakes seen today and puffins + divers Have seen puffins at intervals during the voyage after striking the discolored water up to present time. Kelp in water today

Morning moderate W wind & a little rain. Many birds about. P.M. very light wind half cloudy sp. gr. - 27.
- Wednesday May 14 - 
Wind light SE and Easterly rainy. Bar falls to 29.30 P.M. sp. gr.- 27 .Many birds about
