Go ashore to adjust instruments and test telemeter. make a measurement with latter which comes out with in 2 millimeters. Aboard to dinner P.M. go to the spit & make observations for magnetic & astronomical azimuth with moderate success but are interrupted by clouds. Back by 8 P.M. with a lot of codfish which Mr Bailey obtained after repairing the signal at North Head.

Tuesday May 27
Morning cloudy with occasional bits of clear sky. Moderate NW wind which afterwards shifts to N and freshens with snow. Go up to the spit to complete observations for magnetic azimuth of the baseline finish & return at noon. P.M. snow squalls & high wind. Hennig promises us a spar to replace the gibboom but backs out and we get one from the Frances Palmer.
