Foggy & cloudy, wind light, Southerly Morning work over charts. P.M. spend on the beach ashore. The boat goes out for fish and returns with a lot of cod and two fine halibut.

Foggy & cloudy in A.M. wind lt Southerly. Capt. Herendeen goes out and gets a number of birds. I go out dredging but don't get much except. Buc. Kennicottii - dead - Andu Marsenia. P.M. attempt observations for time but sun does not come out. work on chart & specimens. P.M. Play crib & fix up some collections in a keg.

Foggy, calm. noon sun out a times try for circummeridian altitudes & get a few tolerable ones & in P.M. try for time with poor success Dig for prehistorics & get a good lot.

Morning foggy & rainy fresh South wind. Work over collections P.M. skin birds. Capt Herendeen digs out a few prehistorics
