Tuesday Aug 12
Day foggy & calm Sun out a little A.M. & P.M. Morning observations for time. P.M. do interrupted by fog. Pack collections & in P.M. go to village & dig  Getting very little.

Wednesday Aug 13
Morning foggy & wind very light about noon manage to work out of the harbor & stand out into the straits. Strike a porpoise P.M. Get observations on the highest peak of the N part of Adakh making it approximately 5700 ft high. Evening [[moderate?]]

Day foggy or cloudy wind moderate or light

Friday Aug 15
Day cloudy, nearly calm in A M See a rightwhale porpoise and many fur seal- About 9 A.M. bring the ship up in the wind, being in about Lat [[strikethrough]] 52.23 n' [[/strikethrough]] & lon [[strikethrough]] 175.31.30 [[/strikethrough]] W.I.
