Morning rainy, foggy, squally SW wind. Two Korovinsky natives & Macarty aboard. P.M. go ashore & look in at Macartys house & go over on to the sand beach & pick up some shells

Rains & storms from the SE all day. Macarty aboard to dinner. Make out payrolls

Wednesday Aug 20
Rains & blows from Eastward all day. Work over sketches.

Thursday Aug 21
Foggy & rainy with occasional squalls from the SE and glimpses of clear sky toward evening
Dredge all day, losing one dredge & breaking another. Get a new Chrysodomus. Capt Herendeen goes over to Korovinsky Bay with the natives. My 29th birthday.
