Very common species throughout the area, Big robust bamboo, arching and bending over vegetation.
Culm +/- up to .2 cm diameter. Hollow but +/- thick walls surface [[strikethrough]] [[suf?]] [[/strikethrough]] asperous

Culm sheath very thick hard, smooth on the back, a little softer near the edges. Leaf blade not reflexed, broad lanceolate with very thick cartilaginous margin.
Nodal region very prominent. Node a thick, wide ring black or very dark
Bud complement very big, start .3 >= or 1 very big? the central one
