[[right justified]] [[circled]] 95 [[/circled]] [[/justified]] suddenly appears and then flies on ahead of group. Lands on [[underlined]] ground [[/underlined]] sloping barranca, up hill. Feeds on ground. [[underlined]] Very flicker-like. [[/underlined]]. Then I lose sight of it. Rest of group continues to move uphill slowly thru scrub. [[margin, blue]] 94 [[/margin]] In front of it, are 2 or 3 [[underlined]] B. nigrocristatus, [[/underlined]] 2 - 3 ft up, in bushes. When group first seen, it was at least 20 yards away from the [[underlined]] nigrocristatus. And the latter were very noisy [[/underlined]] (lots of R's and Flourishes). But the group gets closer and closer to the [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] as it moves up hill. Finally the Yellow faces and Yellow bellies fly into same clump of bushes as the [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]]. Should this be considered joining??? As soon as the group came within 5 or 10 feet of the [[underlined]] nigrocristatus, the latter shut up. [[/underlined]]. Apparently the [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] did not leave the clump of bushes. [[underlined]] But their silence would suggest that they were trying to remain inconspicuous and thus "speed" the group on its way. [[/underlined]] [[double underlined]] See, however, below [[/double underlined]] [[left margin in red]] 52 [[/left margin]] In any case, the Yellow faces and Yellow bellies continue on their way up hill. [[underlined]] Not [[/underlined]] followed by [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[2 red checkmarks]] [[/underlined]]. The latter remain behind in the same clump of bushes they have been clinging to all the time. Also, the [[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] seems to have disappeared by now. Repeatedly, the Yellow faces f [[right arrow]] Yellow bellies. And repeatedly Yellow bellies f [[right arrow]] Yellow faces!!! Yellow-belly - Yellow face groups still very coherent. As it moves up hill, it gradually approaches line of mature-looking forest. Then, suddenly, a [[underlined]] third flock appears [[/underlined]] !!! Moving thru line of forest. At right angles to Yellow face-Yellowbelly group. This third group includes a lot of birds, but I can identify only a few of them.
