[[right arrow]] Cy! (Quite clear.) All birds land in scrub 6 ft up.

8:25. Approximately 8 - 9 tanager-like birds fly downhill, [[underlined]] high [[/underlined]] over road. Probably at least 2 species. But not very close together

Clouds coming up, 8:35 am

More birds flying downhill high over head!

There is some recrudescence of bird noises as clouds spread.

8:42. See a couple of dull gray birds which look remarkably like Catbirds (but lack rufous under tail coverts). 6 - 20 ft up in scrub. Flycatching. Presumably a tyrannid, related to [[underlined]] Oectheca. [[/underlined]] Silent & alone

[[left margin in red]] 4 [[/left margin]]

Then see single Yellowbelly [[red checkmark]] fly by alone

Sun coming out again 8:55 am

Still more birds flying downhill, high over head.

9:10 am. Come across a small and rather diffuse mixed flock. Region rather scattered mature trees over bamboo scrub.

Group includes at least 1 [[green checkmark]] [[insert,in purple]] 1 [[/insert]] Blue & Black, 1 [[green checkmark]] [[insert,in purple]] 2 [[/insert]]]] Yellowbelly, 1 [[green checkmark]] [[insert,in purple]] 3 [[/insert]] Yellowface. All in trees 10 - 25 ft up. Rather quiet. Blue & Black j [[right arrow]] group. I also can hear both [[underlined]] B. [[2 green checkmarks]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] and Whitestripe(s) [[2 green checkmarks]] [[insert,in purple]] 5 [[/insert]] low in scrub under trees. Both noisy. And there is a Cy [[green checkmark]] [[insert,in purple]] 6 [[/insert]] singing nearby somewhere! NODWA.

9:31 Another area. See a pair [[2 red checkmarks]] of Yellowbellies 10 ft up second growth scrub. Apparently alone.

Also see another single Sooty Thrush alone.

Leaving 10:05 am

NOTE: According to my altimeters now, the altitude here is 8900 ft, 2695 m.

COMMENTS:
My observations this morning would [[underlined]] suggest [[/underlined]] that the local birds are showing much the same kind of social behavior now tha
