b than warbler. Eventually both birds disappear from my right. Apparently moving more or less together.

I am beginning to believe that there is a special inter-specific preference involved in the PL - [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] relationship.

Go on a few feet further and see same [[1 red, 1 blue checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 70 [[/circled]] [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] apparently alone.

Well well! 8:50 am. Flock [[2 blue, 1 pencil checkmark]] 1 PL Atlapetes and [[2 blue, 1 pencil checkmark]] 1 [[underlined]] Plush-capped Finch [[/underlined]] from same bush.

Apparently they had been together. The [[circled in blue]] 71 [[/circled]] [[1 blue checkmark]] Plush-Cap goes to one bush. Sits exposed. Silent. The PL goes to another bush 20 ft away. Apparently [[3 blue checkmarks]] [[circled in blue]] 73 [[/circled]] joins mate. both utter a lot of CN's or ALCN's.

Then [[2 red checkmarks]] they fly away. Plush [[red checkmark]] cap remains behind. Sunning itself. Then flies off in opposite direction.

9:13 am. See [[2 red, 2 pencil, 2 blue checkmarks]] [[circled in blue]] 75 [[/circled]] pair of [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] alone in Melastomaceo tree. 15 - 25 ft above ground. Feeding on berries. One or (less probably) both uttering lots of "Seeet" or "Zheeet" Notes. Every once in a while one of the birds feeds a berry to the other. The receiver goes down into semi-hunched posture (probably with head pointed diagonally upward) and quivers wings when receiving.

9:21. Hear what seem to be Cy songs with [[underlined]] no [[/underlined]] Intro Notes or only a very, [[underlined]] very [[/underlined]] weak "Tut tut".

I wonder why I haven't seen (or heard) any Whitestarts today. Are they less active in good weather?

9:45. A single [[1 red, 1 pencil, 1 blue checkmark]] [[circled in blue]] 76 [[/circled]] PL flies into tangle at base of tree which contains [[2 red, 2 pencil, 2 blue checkmarkss] [[circled in blue]] 78 [[/circled]] [[underlined]] cyanocephalas [[/underlined]] higher up. But the two species seem to ignore one another.

Two blue birds, apparently both [[4 blue checkmarks]] Cys, fly across road together. Followed, a minute or so later, by two [[4 blue checkmarks]] [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]]. But the latter
