1619 Danish - two vessels under the direction of Jens Munk were sent out for discovery of a N.W. passage. They wintered in Hudson's Bay, where all the people 64 in number, excepting Munk & 2 others are stated to have died of the scurvy. The 3 accomplished their passage home in the smaller vessel.
