with any weather I have had to make positive determinations of Lat. & Long of this Harbor. However I may say Lat. 62° - 51' N is not far from true location of Rescue Harbor
Boats are all in - No Whales seen to-day. A remark has been made that the late gale & storm have driven them all away.

The 1st officer Mate Rogers reports seeing "Georgiana" outside near Duck Island beating up to the N. Two fine Arctic Rabbits were brought aboard the George Henry by an Esquimaux to-day & sold to Capt. B. The weight of one was 6 1/2 lbs the other 8 1/2 lbs. They were white as falling snow. A Sea-pie [[insertion]] for Dinner [[/insertion]] is ordered to be made of them to-morrow. Beautiful Evening. [[moon symbol]] & * * out in all their usual glory.

(true) fresh. Bar. (still rising) 29.675. Ther 21°, Boats out at 6. Native crews take their own time. During late storm, the mountains encircling Rescue Bay, deeply clothed in their Winter Robes. Capital dog drivers do I have on decks of George H. every day. Me-lak is a team when I am the [[strikethrough]] no [[/strikethrough]] running freight! Quite an interesting discussion sprung up among the "Boat-Steerers" & "Boat-headers" this eve. The sum of it was that all would rejoice if every drop of liquor was knocked & kept out of Existence! Yet such acknowledged, such were the circumstances on arriving home that it ^ would be utterly impossible for them to resist the temptations thrown before them. Each one has his friends who will press ^ him to drink on meeting [[strikethrough]] them [[/strikethrough]] ^ him in the states. The convenience of getting the damning stuff at almost every corner of the States adds much to Evils of drinking. What a glorious work accomplished the non-existence of spiritous drink!

Capt. B. this PM scrub-brush in hand with the Belles of Knew-gum-mi-ooke In-nuk-de-lien & Kok-er-zhum scrubbing cabin floors & walls while the writer is working up observations. Good subject for an illustration! Smith & his crew returned 5 o'clock having been out since morning He brought a considerable portion of "my Budington", of course in ruins! The fore & aft decks nearly whole from being well "kneed". Smith found the wreck opposite side (S side) Rescue Bay - Says a considerable portion of the keel is still there but a rock is upon it weighing between 2 & 3 tons! How this occured no one can tell though old experienced storm men say the raging billows of the storm of 26th - 7th & 8th ultimo[[?]] cast [[strikethrough]] this [[/strikethrough]] said rocks upon it.

This the finest day since coming here. Bar. Still rising now 29.812 Ther. 24° This eve. No Whales Seen to-day causing increased disappointment. Much anxiety exercised on the part of Capt. B. The "Rabbit Sea-pie" was excellent! Fresh meat puts a man situated as we are in good humor - & health. Even one meal of fresh provision ^ here renews a man's life! There ought to be rein-deer upon our table every day but this luxurious fare cannot be had as rein deer have been unusually scarce on these coast this season
