Found that Tuk-oo-li-too had visited several times during the night the very sick one mentioned in my report of yesterday. As I went over [[insertion]] by [[?]] him [[/insertion]] measured the distance of the shore near which is the N.S. village from the G.H. - found it to be 2260 feet which in decimals may be expressed .3385 of a mile (nautical) This comprised 2/3 the distance across the harbor. The principle "Igloos" are situated 750 feet North from the shore to which I measured. Found Ebirbing busily at work with 2 of his Esquimaux friends building him an "Igloo". To this time he & his nuliana Tuk-oo-li-too have lived in a tupik (skin tent) Now they are to have much warmer winter quarters - a house made of snow!
After dinner a trial of my dog team. Ku-jesse, the driver, Capt. B. & myself the distinguished load! My Greenlanders not parted in Eastland dog driving terms Being tractable, will easily learn other ways. Fine skating in a portion of the harbor. Only one pair of skates for the crowd!

My eve spent with the sick. My services in attending Koo-per-ase in competio[[guess]] with the An-ge-ko. The visit to Chimaer-Chu's[[guess]] Saw Nuk-en-tou - better - almost well. Stopped 15 minutes with her & Kok-er-zhun, Chimaerchu's nuliana. Kok-er-zhun desires very much that Chimearchu & herself may be of the Exquimaux company that I am to take from here next season for Wes-se-poke for distant land. Probably I will not do better than to include these. Both are young, active ^[[healthy]] & powerful like the rest engaged. Below I name 6 Capital Assistants:
{ Ku-jes-se & Tu-nuk-de-lien }
{ Ebirbing & Tuk-oo-li-too }
{ Chimearchu & Kok-er-zhun }
I shall find no difficulty, from present appearances, of filling up my desired number & with most excellent material too, by the time I wish to start. These parties named have no children; nor is there any indication that this assertion will have to be changed [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]]
