In a Note, I here indicate that I have just returned from "Frobisher Bay" where I have been for the last week for the object of ascertaining the practicability of exploring it at an early day. I started Monday ^[[Morn]] Apr. 22d & returned last eve, Apr. 29th. Though almost Blind - & suffering greatly from it ("Snow Blindness") I will ^[[now]] continue my journal from memoranda taken on tour: -

The Steward was instructed by Capt B. to pack up some bread (hard bread) & salt junk wh. he done as a faithful Steward should. Que-jesse was late in turning out. His nuliana came aboard for her breakfast & I sent word to Quej to hasten along. This brought him, but it was fully X 1/2 o'clock before we got
