Dear sirs:- It had long been conceded by local gardeners, that a heavy hard head of lettuce, could not be grown in this country. The kind that our markets will pay a fancy price for, and refuse to handle loose lettuce, I noticed in your catalogue that your lettuce seed was grown in California. So I tried your Iceburg and two other lots of Iceburg from other seedsmen, under [[strikethrough]] identical [[/strikethrough]] same conditions your lettuce produced heavy solid heads, that my customers would scarcely believe that I raised it, the other two lots produced loose heads only.
